Dream Dinners Part 1

Dream Dinners Part 1

You guys!!! This post was so much fun to put together and write!  Why, you ask? Recently, I was contacted by a local business and Instagram follower, Dream Dinners of Lancaster, to come into their location for an open house.  I was excited, inquisitive and a little nervous, not knowing quite what to expect.  But, this place totally exceeded my expectations!

So, here is a snapshot of what Dream Dinners is all about.  Think Hello Fresh or any of those other box delivery services you might see online, on Facebook or even on TV; except picture a local business where you get to choose your recipes, assemble the meals in-store, cook them in the comfort of your own home and enjoy a delicious meal. (Oh – and did I mention they get all the ingredients ready for you and do all the cleanup!  Dreamy, right?)

Dream Dinners is a one-stop shop for meal prepping, meal planning and just tasty, home-cooked meals.  Each month they publish a new menu you use to hand-pick dinners for your family and lifestyle.  After choosing your dishes, the employees at Dream Dinners will help you create a freezer bag meal complete with easy to follow directions to be cooked at home.

During my trip to Dream Dinners, I assembled 4 freezer meals: Thai Peanut Chicken with Jasmine Rice, Lemon Villa Chicken, Southwest Pork Carnita Wraps and Cucina Chicken Gnocchi.  I knew each of these meals would be something my family would love! So, needless to say, I was very excited to put these dinners together.

So, aside from these yummy dinner options, here is what I love about Dream Dinners: they create these recipes and dishes that are completely customizable.  The meals can be customized to your family’s tastes as well as any dietary needs.  For instance, one of the dishes called for chopped olives and food blogger truth…I hate olives. Luckily for me…so does my husband.  So, easy-peasy at Dream Dinners.  I simply left the olives out of the freezer bag.

For this blog post, I tried the Thai Peanut Chicken dish as well as the Lemon Villa Chicken.  I have to say that my absolute favorite meal was the Thai Peanut Chicken with Jasmine Rice.  I’m a huge Thai fan and this meal did not disappoint.  The sauce was velvety and rich and had just the right amount of heat. Oh, and did I mention how absolutely stunning the colors are in this bowl?  Gorgeous!

The other meal my family tried was the Lemon Villa Chicken. If you love lemon flavor as much as I do (see most of my other posts regarding my love of all things lemon), then this is your dish!  The chicken is a perfect healthy serving and the lemon flavor is on point.  I paired this dish with some cauliflower rice with sun-dried tomato pesto to keep the healthy vibes going.  My hubby could not get enough of this Lemon Villa Chicken!
